And yes I know this game is essentially a lawyer/detective simulator, but the writing makes this game so much more interesting and entertaining than just moving around and gathering stuff. There’s a lot of humor in this game which is refreshing. Yes, there are some typos here and there, even in the remaster, but it doesn’t take away from how enjoyable this game series really is. The dialogue and writing for these games is really good. It may take a bit to get used to, but it’s really simple once you understand. The essential thing to do in the court phase is to present the right thing on the right statement, but also knowing what to press and do at a given time. You do get to save pretty much whenever you want, so just keep that in mind. You’re in court, presenting evidence and pressing witnesses and presenting evidence to try to win in court. Investigation phase is really simple and provides a great world building aspect to the series that feels really natural.Ĭourt phase is pretty self-explanatory. During investigation phase, it’s like a clicker game where you tap on something to check it out. Investigating in the trilogy, as well as Apollo Justice, does get kind of annoying because there’s no indicator telling you that there’s nothing left to see in the area. You also get to talk to people as you move around, which is pivotal, and you can present evidence to them as well. Investigation phase has you moving around and looking at crime scenes or different areas to gather evidence. There’s the investigation phase and the court phase. There’s two phases to the game in each case. To anyone who hasn’t played this series yet, this game is very much like a visual novel. I played the game when I was in middle school and binge played it as often as I could after finishing homework and well into the night when I should really be asleep. The first Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney game holds a very special place in my heart as it is the beginning of a series that I love, but also it really helped influence me as a person. I’ve replayed the series on 3DS remaster and it brought back all sorts of wonderful memories of when I’ve played the games previously. So, I’m here to talk about and generally review all of the Ace Attorney games that I have played. Since then, the original trilogy has been remade and ported to many systems which warms my heart as the series is one that I have very fond memories of. I first played the Ace Attorney games when they were released on the Nintendo DS.
